چکیده
We show that any surface of infinite type admits an ideal triangulation. Furthermore, we a set disjoint arcs can be completed into triangulation if and only if, as set, they intersect every simple closed curve finite number times.

Can the world be shown to be indeterministic after all?
This essay considers and evaluates recent results and arguments from classical chaotic systems theory and non-relativistic quantum mechanics that pertain to the question of whether our world is deterministic or indeterministic. While the classical results are inconclusive, quantum mechanics is often assumed to establish indeterminism insofar as the measurement process involves an ineliminable s...
متن کامل8 Variational Principles on Triangulated Surfaces

متن کاملHigher-order Voronoi diagrams on triangulated surfaces
We study the complexity of higher-order Voronoi diagrams on triangulated surfaces under the geodesic distance, when the sites may be polygonal domains of constant complexity. More precisely, we show that on a surface defined by n triangles the sum of the combinatorial complexities of the order-j Voronoi diagrams of m sites, for j = 1, . . . , k, is O(kn + km+ knm), which is asymptotically tight...
متن کاملLine Integral Convolution on Triangulated Surfaces
Line Integral Convolution (LIC), introduced by Cabral and Leedom in 1993, is a powerful technique for generating striking images of vector data. Based on local ltering of an input texture along a curved stream line segment in a vector eld, it is possible to depict directional information of the vector eld at pixel resolution. The methods suggested so far can handle structured grids only. Now we...
متن کاملRemeshing triangulated surfaces with optimal parameterizations
The use of polygonal meshes, especially triangle meshes, is manifold, but a lot of algorithms require the mesh to be structured in a certain way and cannot be applied to an arbitrarily structured mesh. The process of replacing an arbitrarily structured mesh by a structured one is called remeshing and the most important class of structered meshes are triangle meshes with subdivision connectivity...
